I think you should just tell her. I'm sure it'll wake her up to how her hate is blind and is making her act like a fool. It may cause problems between you two, but I'm sure you'll be fine after some time has passed. Good luck.

l'm a mother and if my daughter told me this, i wouldn't jump for joy for several reasons. even so i love her and still would regaurdless!!!! shes my daughter as well as my friend and though i may not always approve of her choices, i will always love and be her friend with unconditional acceptance. chances are by the way you say she already reacts, she probably already knows but in her own way trying to persuade you away from that life style with out coming right out with it. sooner or later your gonna have to face this, might as well get it over with now. it might not go as bad as you think and it might go worse ( sorry just being honest ) BUT her love will win out over it all in time. thats what you have to trust THE LOVE BETWEEN YOU.. good luck baby girl and god bless...

Why, what is she going to do? Spank you and send you to bed without supper? or do you still live at home? If you live at home, wait until you move out before you tell her. But you don't have to tell her right away. Tell her when your ready. On your terms and on your turf. She will get over it. Besides, she probably already suspects it. She is not dumb and everytime you begin to broach the subject she finds a way to machette the topic. Besides, only a "Gay" person thinking "Gay" thoughts would have a "Gay" agenda conversation with their mother. My point is; I am not a gay person and my parents, my siblings and I never discussed gays or race to any extent of more than one or two sentances. It was just not a topic of our conversations. We just don't have any reason to talk about those subjects and if we did, then we would show reason and with reason comes meaning. If I talked about those subjects my Mom would know there was a reason and she would want to know what the meaning of my discussion was. If it was about "gayness" (my own little word I just made up), my Mom would be suspicious. Besides, 90% of the time, a person can pick a gay guy out of a crowd. So your Mom knows already, she just doesn't want to hear it because then her suspicion becomes a reality. But it's OK, she is your mother and can and will deal with it, so be strong.

Hey, you know what you are all idiots. I being a lesbian know what it is like to tell your parents you are gay. I am 32 and have known for 20 years I was gay. It took me 15 years to come out and tell my mother, and another 5 more to tell my father. When I told my mother I was gay she said "you are still my daughter, I will always love you". I know it was hard for my parents to accept, I know growing up how they use to make gay jokes and still do right infront of me. The jokes don't bother me they are actually funny at times. I lived for 19 years to please my family and parents, it is time to please yourself and be happy with whom you are. I am now in a stable and loving relationship and love my partner, she means the world to me, she makes me happy to be who I am. You are the only one in this world who knows what you want and need in life to make you happy, do not live your life for someone else to make them happy. You have one life live it and be happy with you. I wish you all the luck in the world.

I loved my folks and siblings but I never came out to them, because it would have just provided another overlay of turmoil on an already dysfunctional family. I mean, when you're forty, not married, when you pick socks to match your sweaters, and you own a VW convertible, I guess people can take a hint. Not everybody has to know everything, family included.

You can still have a loving spouce and children if you are gay. If your mom can not accept that you are gay, she will be the one missing out. Don't let her views stop you from living your life the way you want. Sometimes parents are wrong. If a parent stops contact with their child because they are gay, that would be one of those times.

I had the same problem with my parents. Finally...I just sat them down and told them. My Dad's biggest regret was saying all those negative things about gay people as I was growing up. It was a learning experiencing for us all. My parents are great about both myself and my partner. Just tell them. You aren't looking for approval...just acceptance that this is YOUR journey.

She already knows. The comments are her way of delaying the inevitable.

OP. I have never met a person who is lesbian. At least none that admits it. Will you please come back here and tell me what your attraction is to women? Sometimes I think I might be. Maybe bi, anyway. I don't know. Thank you ahead of time. I am 17, by the way.
